Official Dallas County record questions belong with the office that created or maintains the file. Felony and misdemeanor clerks, the Sheriff's Legal Department, city police departments, and Texas DPS each control different material. The contacts below route common requests to those government custodians.

This Is Not a Government Office. Dallas County Criminal History is a private reference resource. It cannot retrieve, certify, correct, seal, or expunge a record, accept a court filing, or conduct an official background check.

  • Sheriff reports and releasable booking records: Dallas County Sheriff's Office Legal Department, 133 N. Online GovQA, mail, fax, email, and first-floor counter requests are documented.
  • Current jail or warrant information: call inmate information at (214) 761-9025 or Warrant Information at (214) 761-9026.
  • State criminal history: use the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division and its FAST fingerprint review when an identity-linked personal record is required.
  • Police incident reports: contact the agency that wrote the report. Dallas, Irving, Garland, a constable, DPS, DART Police, and campus departments keep their own records.
