About Dallas County Criminal History

Dallas County records are divided among the District Clerk, County Clerk, Sheriff's Office, city police departments, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. This private resource organizes those official routes so readers can identify the right custodian, understand what each record proves, and find the proper request or search channel.

Why We Built This Site

Dallas County has no single file called a complete criminal history. A booking entry comes from the jail, a filed charge and disposition come from a clerk, and statewide conviction data comes from Texas DPS. Municipal courts also keep fine-only city matters outside the main county felony and misdemeanor index. Bringing verified portal links, office contacts, fees, and request methods into one reference makes that split system easier to navigate without suggesting that any one result tells the whole story.

What We Cannot Do

Dallas County Criminal History is privately operated and has no affiliation with a court, police department, sheriff, clerk, or Texas agency. Its role has firm limits.

  • It cannot retrieve or certify an official government record
  • It cannot perform an official background check
  • It cannot correct, seal, or expunge a record
  • It cannot submit a filing or public-information request for a reader
  • It cannot give legal advice about a charge, warrant, case, or remedy

An official copy must come from the Dallas County office or Texas agency that maintains the original record.
